Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. They inspect and regulate services that care for children and young people, and services providing education and skills for learners of all ages.
As of 9 September 2025, Ofsted confirmed changes to how schools are evaluated, including the introduction of new “report cards” and a new 5‑point grading scale replacing the previous single‑word judgments.
The new grades will be: Urgent Improvement, Needs Attention, Expected Standard, Strong Standard, and Exceptional.
Under the new system, we’ll receive more granularity—i.e. strengths, areas for improvement, and narrative context across a number of evaluation areas (such as curriculum and teaching, inclusion, behaviour and attendance, leadership and governance, personal development and wellbeing and Early Years).

Ofsted Parent View
Ofsted Parent View gives you the chance to tell Ofsted what you think of your child’s school, including:
- how happy your child is at the school
- how the school manages bullying or challenging behaviour
If your child has special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), we will ask how well the school supports them.
The questionnaire can be completed at any time - you don’t have to wait until the school is being inspected.
